This is a remarkable video, from a drone, of the recent tornado on Friday 29, 2022 in Andover, KS. Over 1,000 buildings were damaged in a 12.75 mile path. Thankfully, there were no fatalities. It was similar with Andover’s tornado thirty years ago, on April 26-27, 1991.
The United States has the highest number of tornadoes in the world. The country experiences an average of 1200 tornadoes every year. Traditionally, the term tornado alley refers to the great plains of the central United States. This is the spot where dry and cold air comes from Canada moving and mixes with the warm and moist air from the Gulf of Mexico.
Tornadoes is deadly and relatively unpredictable, despite recent advancements in weather science. The safety tips for tornado is to get in (an inside room without windows in a sturdy building), get down (basement or lowest floor) and cover up (your head and body).

Scary! Best seen on the Internet and not witnessed in person.

Totally agree with you!! It is very scary. A few years ago, a tornado almost hit our home area. I had to stay until midnight to listen to the weather alert and prepare to go to basement, of course, bring Oreo and Calie. I was planning to use can food to attract them and put them into the cages😄

Tornadoes were my biggest fear as a kid. I’m so glad I never actually experienced one. Now I get earthquakes, but they’ve all been minor, thankfully.
