It is not easy to have an international trip during COVID time. Right now, France and the United Kingdom both request international travelers to submit a negative COVID testing within 48 hour departure, plus the certification of vaccination if you have.
I went to Nice to visit my daughter who is currently staying in Nice France. Submitted all the paperwork of COVID testing and vaccination before the trip, I spent a day on airplane or airports (Chicago ORD and London LHR) for transferring. The flights were not bad and everything looked beautiful, except, my baggage did not arrive at Nice airport. After submitting the delay/missing baggage form, I called the airline company, knowing my baggage remaining unknown mystery, either in Chicago or London.

Life is still going on without my luggage. Compared to the trip to Paris three years ago, I don’t have ambition plans for this vacation and just try to relax during holiday season.
I will try to walk or run on the Promenade des Anglais every day and enjoy the beautiful sunshine and blue water of French Riviera . The old town of Nice (Vieux Nice, Vieille Ville) is charming with the narrow cobblestone streets and colorful buildings.

French food, how can I not mention it? They are so delicious!! Besides cafe and restaurants, there is a daily market in the old Nice called Cours Saleya. I already purchased a piece of Camembert cheese there. And of course, cannot forget Italian ice cream.

It must be so surreal and calm, with airports and places being this quiet.

Yes, it is really beautiful and quiet. People sit there for hours on the beach. Many people walk, run, bike, skateboard and scooters on Promenade des Anglais. Thanks for stopping by and comment!

I went to Nice around 45 years ago. It looks much nicer than I remember it!

I think the Promenade des Anglais was extended to 7km from Castle Hill to airport. It is very nice😊

Looks like a great trip! I suppose since you are so used to traveling, you deal well with mishaps. It seems you took the lost luggage far better than most would! The pictures are great. I especially enjoyed that super skinny yellow building. Thanks for sharing these! 🙂

Thank you Betsy🙏 I got my luggage on the third day! Luckily I could borrow a few clothes from my daughter. It was very inconvenient! Glad you like the old Nice buildings, me too😉

Thank goodness you could borrow your daughter’s clothes! Well, unless shopping for new ones in Nice would be fun… 😉

I really don’t like shopping clothes during vacation. It will take too much time😄

That is an excellent point. Plus, how would you fit the extra in your suitcases when going home again?
